About Caveman Explain
What this is
Caveman Explain is a free site where Caveman, a friendly caveman, explains real topics — black holes, inflation, DNA, WiFi — in simple words. The voice is a joke; the facts are not. Every explanation aims to teach the actual mechanism behind a thing, in about 120 words, ending with one memorable takeaway.
Who makes it
Caveman is a fictional character. The site is built and edited by a small independent team (the "cave chiefs") who write, review, and maintain everything you read here. It is not affiliated with any school, publisher, or media company.
How the answers are made
Library answers (the Cave Wall) are drafted with the help of AI writing tools, then fact-checked against the real science, economics, or engineering before publishing — wrong answers get rewritten or thrown out. Where the science is genuinely unsettled (why cats purr, what dreams are for), Caveman says so instead of pretending certainty. Live answers to typed questions are generated by an AI model with the same instructions, but are not individually reviewed — treat them as a fun starting point, and check the "Caveman point" links to learn more.
Found a wrong fact?

How the site pays for fire
The site may show one small ad per page and accepts donations. Donors get an ad-free site — make a free cave accountwith your donation email and it follows you on every device. That's the whole business model: no selling data, no paywall, and asking Caveman questions never requires an account.
